The Helio Ocean Launch Party was a smash. Although, I didn't hear much about the phone, which I'm sure is great, the party atmosphere was definitely an experience to remember. The party was held at San Antonio's own little Asian garden, the Zen-Bar, and was packed almost wall to wall with San Antonio's most grown and sexy crowd.

The Zen-Bar was a great location to hold this event, with its Buddhist theme, entertaining bathroom mirrors, and Zen-Garden coupled with outside bar. A great bar inside as well the only draw back being the the spots rather small dance floor and DJ booth, at one point the glasses started piling up on the head rest of chairs. Besides the limited space the diverse crowd that included San Antonio Spur Francisco Elson, and a hot DJ, the Helio Ocean Party was a great time and a for sure repeat destination.

I got there about a quarter 'til 7P. It was a gorgeous day outside, and the crowd was there. I expected slightly more though considering it was a Paul Wall concert, but then again there were also a lot of kids (under 18) there, so I didn't necessarily expect a sold out concert either. The performance line-up was sweet, well put together. This was a solid event.

This party was aiight. Naw man it was crunk!!! Well, it would have been had you been there! Why the hell didn't you attend? You missed 10 of the HOTTEST hip-hop groups to rep SA-Town! Did you hear me correctly? 10 Hip-hop groups, and not ONE fight ALL NIGHT!!! You know it had to be jumpin'! Some of the hottest performances hands down included Hooligan Ent, Drunk Brothas, 2Real, Get Money Click, and my homeboy Phenom of Strictly Business Tha Empire. Not to mention, this was the first public appearance by The Phenomenal Gifts promotional party crew - yeah, Egypt, ClaudiaG, MariaAnna, mhmm.. You missed it, too late to go back now. Just hope that this party comes back Thanksgiving weekend 2006. SA-Town wasn't ready in '05.

From what I recall, this party was okay. If you like to drink, there were pretty good drink specials... I don't drink, so I mainly just observed the overall crowd and atmosphere. I waited and waited for those damn N.O. Saints ticket giveaways... I'm still waiting. I think that was part of the hype to get people to the party. Hey, if y'all gave 'em out I apologize (it must have been at 9:01PM), but I'm not lying that's the ONLY reason I went to the party and I didn't hear one DJ mention of them. But the crowd was there, which was a definite plus, and I love DJ AK on the 1's and 2's!!! Too many females at the party though, probably 5 for every male. Yeah, I know the guys are smiling right now!
